Writing is a Revolutionary Act

ree

“Evil persists when good men do nothing.”

This is a phrase that often acts like a bully, causing far too many sensitive/creative types who deeply care about this world, to spin out in angst. Feeling like they’re not doing enough to make a difference in these troubling times.

This feeling of powerlessness seems to be so pervasive that it’s got my partners and I, over at Humans on The Verge, talking.

As coaches, we find ourselves wanting to take a deeper stand for our clients, around this idea, that yes, doing something is important, but what is even more important, is to first, truly know one’s self, and then, from that wiser, more centered and aligned place, to understand what is actually theirs to do

Each of us has a unique way, or unique gifts in which we could be making a contribution in this world. Some are meant to make the difference inside their own micro community/family, while others are meant to make a difference out in the world at large.

The reach is not what is important. The solid alignment with what is actually yours to do is.

When you’re in alignment like that, you have the power and confidence to hold your center. You know how best to utilize your energy. And you can reclaim your energy from all the drama that seeks to drain it, thereby making you far more powerful and effective in whatever it is you’re doing

If you’re a writer or storyteller of any kind, then chances are what is yours to do right now is to write your stories.

Storytelling is one of the most powerful and healing forms of communication on the planet. And if you know you have stories in you that can help us - either by waking people up to our shared humanity, helping them to feel and process complex emotions, making them laugh, or showing them a new perspective they hadn’t thought of before - then storytelling is what is yours to do and it’s what you should focus your energy on. Not all the train wrecks you’ve no power to stop.

If this is resonating, might it be time to make a change?

The change starts by first making a commitment to yourself and your stories. Allowing yourself to admit that your stories are important and that writing them is what is yours to do.

Then, you follow through by consciously giving yourself a little bit of a buffer. A hall pass if you will. Permission to reclaim your energy from all the things (internal and external) that are trying to steal your attention/energy, no matter how convincing their argument. You powerfully reclaim your time, so that you can sink deep into your true purpose: writing.

And it doesn’t matter how far away you feel from the possibility of writing/completing any of your stories. It doesn’t matter if you don’t know where to start, or if it will be any good.

The truth is, if you’ve got a story in you, and it feels important, it’s because it is important.

Whether the writing of it ends up being important only to you, your personal growth and your micro-community, or whether it becomes something that is important to the whole world…. again, that is not what matters. What matters is the act of doing something that is in alignment with who you are and what you have to offer.

The healing and joy that comes from being in alignment, is the fuel that makes the world a better place. It’s infectious.

So if you’re someone who has the desire to make a difference via your storytelling (be it film/tv/novels/memoirs/documentaries/solo shows), my partners and I would like to coach you through it.

We’re looking for storytellers who are interested in banding together to make this a powerful year where distractions are silenced, and the focus remains on getting on and staying on the path they are meant to be on.

We’re looking for storytellers (of all skill levels) who would like the support and guidance of professional writers who have been there (Kelly Carlin-McCall and myself), and professional get-around-your-saboteurers (Avery Russell) to help them do what it takes to dig deep and find the courage to not only write their best stories, but to become the effective and confident ambassadors out in the world that their stories will need them to be.

Creatives that are ready to let go of the excuses and confront the inner lies that tell them they aren’t enough. Or that they don’t have enough time or talent to make their writing dreams happen.

If this is you, then I invite you to get on a discovery call with me by clicking HERE to see if you’re a fit for our upcoming writing program (officially starting mid-September.)

The sooner you hop on a call the sooner we can get you mentally prepping for the journey ahead.

As you likely have already guessed, this is no ordinary writing program.

Our students will tell you that they initially came for the purpose of writing their story, but ended up with not only a completed script/novel/memoir or solo show, but a total transformation in how they approach their creativity, and a community they deeply love to share all their triumphs and setbacks with.

We keep our courses small, because we give a lot of love and attention to the creatives we work with. So if you even think you might like to join us this year, jump on that discovery call now. There might be some chances to open up more spaces later next year, but potentially not.

No prior experience is necessary. Spaces are first come, first served. Spots will fill up.

So if you know your heart really wants to make that change and get into action on what is yours to do, then don’t worry about the how. That’s what your coaches are here for. Just book your free discovery call now, by clicking HERE, and let’s chat about your hopes and dreams.

There will be no high pressure sales. Our program is either a fit or it’s not.
